We wait all year for watermelon season, or at least I do. And all year long people torture me with, “When will you do watermelon?” It pains me to get this question, because we must wait until they are at the farmers market. It is only right to make our watermelon sorbet with the local plump, juicy watermelons that arrive for their season during the last leg of summer. I really can't bring myself to buy out of season, or non-local, watermelons for the sorbet. The blended juice is lightly scented with orange blossom. The combination reminds me of Sicily for some reason. I even made a drink that I fantasize about all year long called the Beauty of Palermo. If you like our floral flavors, you must get it twisted with the Rose Petal Yogurt. A gentle summer kiss.
