One of my favorite flavors is back. . . Minty! We did Minty a few times during the Summer of 2011. We played around with its minty-ness by including different herbs such as Anise Hyssop, Basil, Chocolate Mint, Spearmint, Peppermint, and Apple Mint. Last year, Minty took a break for the likes of Rose Petal and Watermelon Sorbet. This year we are going to make sure we get our Mints up there before the Herbal Blend and Sorbets take over in the Summer.
Another new flavor we put up this past week is In the Land of Carob and Honey. Carob is a wonderful fruit from the arid region of the Mediterranean. It grows in a pod, and has a chocolatey, somewhat nutty flavor. It is mentioned in the Bible and is thought to be a tree of life. Though it is often compared to chocolate, we love its flavor in and of itself. We play up its Mediterranean side by adding honey and cardamom. Carob was a big hit with everyone, so we will be putting it back up there later this week!
